Lead router: an AI agent that assigns every new lead to the right owner
The lead router assigns each new lead to the right person by your rules: territory, segment, account ownership and how much each rep is already carrying. It checks whether the company already has an owner or an open deal, assigns the lead, tells the rep and writes down why. Nobody has to pick leads out of a shared queue.
We design every agent around how you sell. This page shows our starting design for this one.
- When it runs
- The moment the lead qualifier grades a new lead.
- Works in
- Your CRM's territories and owner records, plus Slack, Microsoft Teams or email for the alert.
- Waits for a person
- Changes to the routing rules. Day-to-day assignments follow the rules you agreed.
- How you know it works
- Time from lead to owner, leads sent to the wrong owner, and the balance of open leads across reps.
What it does
- Checks whether the company already has an owner, an open deal or a recent conversation in your CRM.
- If it does, sends the lead to that owner, so two reps don't call the same account.
- If it doesn't, applies your rules for territory, segment and deal size.
- Balances by capacity, skipping reps who are out of office or already full.
- Assigns the lead, alerts the rep with the qualifier's notes, and logs the reason for the choice.

Questions about the lead router agent
Our CRM already has round-robin. What's different?
Round-robin takes turns. The lead router checks ownership first, reads the qualifier's grade, knows who's away and who's full, and records why it chose each owner, so you can audit any assignment.
What happens when the rules don't cover a lead?
It sends the lead to the person you name as the fallback, with a note on what didn't fit. If the case keeps coming up, your operator adds a rule.
Can we change territories without breaking it?
Yes. Tell your operator, and they update the rules and test them on last month's leads before switching over.
