What is an AI-native CRM?

An AI-native CRM is a CRM built around AI from the start. It reads your email, calendar and calls, creates and updates the records itself, and suggests or drafts the next step. In a traditional CRM, people do the data entry and AI features sit on top. Day AI and Lightfield take the AI-native approach; Attio sits in between, with a data model you design and AI features built in.

Updated

How it differs from a traditional CRM

  • Records: in Salesforce or HubSpot, reps create and update them. In an AI-native CRM, the system builds them from your conversations and reps correct them.
  • Activity: traditional CRMs depend on reps logging calls and emails. AI-native CRMs capture them from the inbox, calendar and call recordings.
  • Next steps: traditional CRMs remind you of tasks someone set. AI-native CRMs suggest the next step from what happened in the conversation.

The names you'll hear in 2026

Attio lets you design your own objects, records and views, with AI features for research and enrichment. Day AI builds records from your email, calendar and meetings, so your team doesn't log activity by hand. Lightfield, launched in late 2025, centres on a CRM that keeps itself up to date.

All three are young, and most of their customers are startups and small teams.

Should you switch?

Switch if you're starting fresh, or your current CRM holds little history and few integrations. A CRM that keeps itself up to date is a big help to a team with nobody to run it.

Stay if you have years of data, integrations and reports in Salesforce or HubSpot. A migration costs months, and you can get the main benefit, records that keep themselves current, by running agents on the CRM you have: call notes into the CRM after every call, nightly cleanup and next steps on every deal.

Related questions

Is Attio an AI-native CRM?

It depends on the definition. Attio is recent, with a flexible data model and AI features built in, but people still design and maintain the records. CRMs like Day AI go further and generate the records themselves.

Are AI-native CRMs ready for larger teams?

They're young. Enterprise features such as complex permissions, territory management and audit trails are still catching up, so check them against your needs before you move.

Can AmpliLoop work with an AI-native CRM?

Yes, if it has an API. We already work in Attio, and we connect to newer CRMs through their APIs, the same way we handle a custom CRM.
