Capacity planner: an AI agent that compares pipeline with quota capacity and flags the gaps

The capacity planner compares what you need to sell with what your team can sell. It takes your targets, each rep's quota, ramp time and past attainment, and your hiring plan, and shows where you'll be short on reps or pipeline in the coming quarters. Leaders see the gap in time to hire or move territories.

We design every agent around how you sell. This page shows our starting design for this one.

When it runs
Every month, and whenever the plan changes or someone joins or leaves.
Works in
Your CRM, quota and territory plan, hiring plan and planning spreadsheets.
Waits for a person
None. It reports to the leaders you choose and doesn't change plans or quotas.
How you know it works
Gaps flagged ahead of time, and the difference between planned and actual bookings.

What it does

  1. Reads your targets, quotas, territories and hiring plan.
  2. Works out each rep's real capacity from ramp time, tenure and past attainment.
  3. Compares total capacity with the target, quarter by quarter.
  4. Checks whether each territory has enough pipeline for the reps assigned to it.
  5. Flags the gaps and lays out the options: hire earlier, move accounts or change targets.

What it hands your team

Sample

Capacity plan for the next two quarters

First quarter
Capacity of $2.4M against a $2.6M target. Two new reps won't reach full quota until March.
Second quarter
On target if both reps ramp on time, but East has pipeline for three reps and four assigned.
Options
Bring one hire forward to January, or move 30 East accounts to Central.

Example output. The companies and people are made up.

Questions about the capacity planner agent

How does it handle new reps?

It uses your ramp schedule, or how long your past hires took to reach full quota, and counts new reps at partial capacity until then.

Can it replace our planning spreadsheet?

It can read your spreadsheet and keep it current from the CRM. You can keep the spreadsheet and use the planner to check it each month.

Who should see it?

Your CRO or VP Sales, finance, and whoever runs hiring.
